Joe Blankson foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching children and adults on how to swim. We use swimming events and trainings as a tool to bring children and adults together to further our campaign for swimming skills and use of swimming to replace unhealthy habits such drugs and substance abuse and alcoholism.
HISTORY
On the 28th of July 2018 at about 2;30pm Late Joe Blankson paid the ultimate price after rescuing (13) drowning co-passengers in a twenty-one (21) passengers speed boat which capsized while travelling to his home town Bakana near Port Harcourt Rivers State. He lost his life while trying to rescue the 14th person probably out of exhaustion. Joe and other added to the unacceptable statistics of the number of people drown by water. An estimated 236, 000 people drown every year, drowning is the 2nd leading cause of unintentional injury death for children under 14 with the highest rates among children 1-4.
Joe’s widow, Mercy Joe Blankson founded Joe Blankson Foundation with a vision of a society free of loss of Lives through water accidents.

Thank you for welcoming us to your team this past summer! My daughter really liked coaches from day one and their challenging workouts are showing results already after lengthy Covid break we had before we joined your foundation. Thank you for providing safe and fun environment for swimmers!

After years of doing other sports our son wanted to try swimming and Joe Blankson Foundation was the perfect fit! Stephanie has helped us navigate the process of swim lessons to swim fit to his first swim meet this weekend. He is loving the environment and is so encouraged by all the staff. Thanks Blankson!
Our packages are basically for individuals and schools. The classes cover butterfly strokes, free strokes, basic backstroke, professional coaching and certificate.
